Why legalizing marijuana is stuck in legal limbo

Congress passed the Controlled Substances Act in 1970. More than a quarter century later, a section of that law helped states to legalize marijuana.

  1. Conclusion while tobacco is giving us a whole lot of money. We make marijuana illegal. Every year 400,000 people die because of cigarettes, so why is it legal to smoke? Because the tobacco companies pay the government a tax fee every year. They have paid more than 100 billion dollars to the government. They don’t give a flying fuck about your health they care about how much money they will make off that. If we legalize weed people don’t need a company making that product and they can plant that and sell with no tax. THEY CARE ABOUT THE TAX THEY’LL RECEIVE AT THE END OF THE YEAR.

  2. I’m 25 I’m from Europe (Ireland) and have cystic fibrosis.. I was doing research and think illegal cannabis oil or THC would really help me with appetite and chest pains. Ino it’s illegal but where do I get it? And how do people get it? Apart from the dark web or something? Should I go to Amsterdam? Sorry if this sounds stupid I’m just so unaware of this

  3. The only reason marijuana is still illegal in the US is because corporate elites (political influencers) are making more money off of the incarceration industry in a highly dilapidated market of influence. The illegalization of marijuana is simply a combination of the resemblence of prohibition combined with corruption influence in Mexican government towards American policies.

  4. that clause only allows the states to proactively apprehend and prosecute drug offenders at the state level without having to take a back seat to the feds. the very last phrase says unless there is a positive conflict between state and federal law so as to be incompatible. any state law that decriminalizes would be incompatible with federal law and would fall to federal supremacy. states may be legally in the right to simply remove any penalties from its use. but to make a state law or state constitutional amendment declaring its use to not to be a crime is wrong

  5. I need a valid explanation why alcohol and cigarettes are legal and marijuana is not.

Alcohol and cigarettes combined kill about a half million ppl every year, cars kill about a million ppl every year, marijuana kills nobody!!

Yet it is perfectly legal to drive a car while smoking a cigarette and having boxes of alcohol in your trunk, but god forbid I had 1 gram of weed with me I go to jail….?????????

  6. I don't smoke marijuana but to be candid, I think it's absurd and old fashioned to criminalize and make illegal marijuana usage. Alcohol and cigarettes are legal but marijuana can send you to prison makes absolutely no sense to me. Frankly it pisses me off. Change my mind. How much money do pharmaceutical companies need, are their jobs in jeopardy with legalization of marijuana? No, there will be a dip but they will be fine. Seriously, they just need to get a grip and realize this isn't that big of a deal. If they do take a huge dip then get a new job, your job isn't worth the huge repercussions of a vast amount of imprisoned people for something as nonconsequential as lighting up something that grows out of the ground. Are there no critical thinkers in congress? Damn old habits hard die hard, the federal government needs to get their heads out of our asses. If someone smokes and does not impede on my pursuit to happiness why should I care? If they aren't causing harm to society than fuck off, expend you energy on shit that matters like the sanctity of a free nation. Don't even pass a bill that legalizes it just pass a bill that says I don't give a fuck but if you cause harm to anyone you will prosecuted fairly according to the STATES and the FEDERAL government. They tried to prohibit alcohol and look how that turned out! Why are we still now living by standards of Nixon who was proven to be a liar??? AND HE'S DEAD! WAKE UP, holy fuck. Everybody dies, there's this unspoken fear that if they legalize it we'll all be hippies and kill ourselves or something, fucking idiots. Legalize the shit and be done with it you got bigger fish to fry, evolve for Christs sake.

  7. Dude, fuck the bullshit. Weed, should be 100% legal. To the point, anybody can grow and smoke their own stuff. The 2 most dangerous things about being a pot head is, Getting ripped off by a drug dealer or getting pulled over on the way home from the weed man. Why the FUCK are we locking up people for smoking pot? Its because its more profitable to OUR GOVERNMENT that way. Its just a fucking game of monopoly and were the ones playing while they sit back, count money and make power moves. Keeping their people in power, their agendas in motion, funding propaganda to make us all give away our rights and freedom. More gun laws, More security, more police, more regulations. We do it to ourselves but it isn't by our own design. This isnt OUR land its rented property and you play the game the way they say to play it or they'll make your life REAL hard. Your not free, and WEED is a perfect SYMBOL of government LIES and MANIPULATION. It solidify the FACT they do not do what they do to benefit us. But to benefit the machine that they created for us to live inside. The system

  8. I'm a skitzophrenic because of marawana why arnt people with mental illnesses opinions respected on this topic were evidence it should always be illegal because it can potentially harm your own kids

  9. This is encouraging drug usage Cartels or not! Do you want your child exposed to this? Weren't cigarettes bad enough with 1st, 2nd & 3rd hand smoke & now this? I can see medicinal but not this to solve a financial crisis using the excuse of Cartels. Will this be treated as cigarette smoking only to be done outside? How about in rental units, etc., where there can be trespass to another persons unit when that person has emphysema &/or asthma &/or COPD &/or chemical sensitivities/allergies? It appears that revenue is coming before logic, common sense & health! @t

  10. So weed is not legal everywhere but in our NATIONS CAPITAL it is legal where the fucking White House is but not everywhere. America is a joke bro and that’s why other countries laugh at us

  11. Marijuana is legal , it's a natural plant. Been growing it for years and even donated some to s cop and his son. Told him to grow it, but smoked it with his son minutes later

  12. If they completely legalize it in every state they could just tax it & regulated like they do alcohol and make high dollars if done correctly but our government is retarded ran by idiots who don’t know a thing about modern commerce.

  13. Bonjour, we can also spray the Cannabis legal (flowers, wax, hash, crystals)
with a vaporizer of dry herbs, much less harmful, if you want to know more, click on the icon …

  14. Weed is illegal because the government doesnt like its potential, that is it. Weed has been and always will be prevalent in society. Everyone either smokes or has a friend that smokes. I'd go as far to say that if you dont know 1 person who smokes, you're either naive or sheltered af. I fail to believe that all these suited up dudes can come together and discuss marijuana and walk away still thinking it's a danger to America. It's not, we know it's not and they know it's not. Big pharma and the alcohol industry are certainly a large proponent to keeping it illegal. Its gotta be, you're telling me the government will let doctors prescribe addictive medicines like percocet and adderall that can be abused and get you dozens times higher than you can get with weed but still write weed off as a dangerous drug with no medicinal value? Whack.

  15. Legal marijuana is poison !!! If they changed the percentages of TBT and the other ingredients then its going to harm people not help them. Why legalize something that's going to make you sick later on in life. And they Black people criminals , yeah right !
