Tax revenue should not be viewed as a positive thing. We can drink a gallon of bleach and die, which is totally legal. But somehow, smoking or taking any other drug is illegal. Shows how much these govnts care about the people.
It’s hard enough to get marijuana legalised around the world. In Japan it’s so taboo, it’s like trying to legalise public masterbation. It’s fun, relieves stress & doesn’t hurt anyone, if you don’t like it, don’t look.. lol

From what I understand, Japan doesn't have any real established culture surrounding it, and finding people who actually smoke it is slim to none. If that is the case, I don't see even why it would be legalized. Should it in the name of human rights? Probably.
Personally, I find it extremely difficult seeing a situation where this issue would even be brought up in the first place. From what I have heard, the "do not get high" culture in Japan is something taken very seriously as a concept of honor and principle (even though alcohol is a drug as well, go figure). Apparently, even doctors have been facing issues of patients not taking their prescribed pain medications because of this cultural concept.
Japan praised weed used it for everything for centuries, a lot of villages are even named after weed. until the US banned it after Japan lost the war. They will never let us change our law back 🙁
Cannabis does not harm you. None of the compounds in it (THC, CBD, CBN, etc.) kill neurons in your brain, in fact they protect your neurons from damage and deterioration. It eliminates inflammation, heartburn, pain, IBS, anxiety, insomnia, nausea, and many other symptoms. If it wasn't for weed I would be back in the hospital for acid burns in my esophagus and taking harmful benzodiazepines for anxiety or drinking alcohol. I implore the entire world to legalize it already.
Alcohol is statistically more harmful than cannabis. Colorado has hit well over the billion-dollar mark annually on sales with nothing but growth projected into the future. Legalize it, tax it, and everyone is happy in Japan!
oh.. and it might not change much but if i knew that marijuana would have been legalized in the future(when i was a kid) i would have never started smoking cigarettes
hello, i live in Québec where it has been legalized and soon after the government got hands on some cash, they restrained the use in parck and recreatives area so now it is legal and way better handled since everyone can smoke in their houses if the house owner agrees. i intend to go to japan one day and i hope it will be legalized because i have seen way worse things happens with alcohol than weed. especially cars accidents alcohol related
In the first 6 months of legalization of cannabis here in Canada, over 150,000 jobs have been created because of legal pot. Cannabis is not only safer than alcohol, but it is also safer than tobacco cigarettes. Cannabis can be used to help people to quit tobacco as well…
