In this video, I talk about trichomes on cannabis plants. I also talk about using the trichomes to know when to harvest marijuana. If you enjoyed this video please …

First indoor grow, just two fem AUTOS (Cush, and GCS ), and they're nearing harvest (now past 110 days on the Cush, 101 days on the GSC…..which are WELL past the breeder's suggested timeframe). As described in your video and others I've seen, waiting for the some of the trichomes to turn amber improves the quality of the bud, and makes them less anxiety-inducing. I'd been sending trichome pics to my grow advisor in CO, a guy who's grown for years, to advise me when to cut them down. The trichomes are all cloudy, with maybe only a half dozen amber heads appearing, and he sad they were fine to harvest at that point, so I turned off the lights yesterday to give them some darkness prior to harvesting (as I understand, to allow for sugar etc to back down to the roots, and to allow terps etc to be more fully expressed). I had clipped a bud off a few days ago, for a little sample, and found that my heart was racing so much from it that it seemingly hadn't ripened enough. Given I had already turned the lights off (for about 20 hours, I'm concerned that I screwed my first grow by turning off/on at this crucial point…..or do people think it's ok, and I can still grow them a little longer to get more amber heads going?!?
Hey Mr Grow it. I grew outside waited until trichomes were milky. Amnesia haze and black gold. Nice buds but zero buzz. Growing for years. First time this happened. Feminized seeds. Any idea what issue could be. Seriously zero buzz.
I’ve always had problems clearly seeing them until I hit 60x and even then you can just see a little bit of the heads turning amber. Pocket microscopes are pretty good and do a decent job.
My trichomes don't seem to change colors is it the lighting they've been growing a very long time and don't seem to be changing into an amber color not even milky for that matter??
people often say they harvest at 20 -40% amber trichomes, but what exactly does that mean? i notice the tops of the bud get amber trichomes quicker than the sides or bottom, so should i harvest when the bottom of each bud is 30% amber (making the top of the bud 60-90% amber) or harvest when the top is just becoming amber (milky trichomes on bottom)
For sleepy chlorophyll bud harvest at clear… For stoney bud harvest at milky.. For sweet sticky heavy stoner weed free of chlorophyll that lifts you up harvest at 50% amber… I harvest at 50% amber for over 40 years now..
I find it fascinating that the most major factor of when to harvest appears to be a matter of personal opinion. I have examined, under microscope, over 20 different strains of medical marijuana that I have purchased over the last few months. Not a single strain or bud had more than a single amber trichome. Obviously the dispensaries are looking for the highest testable amounts of THC which would be at the milky stage. Compare the dispensary harvest method to personal growers, and the opinions immediately flip to way more amber. Why do you think that personal growers do it different than a professional grow operation? Is it that most of us long time smokers prefer an Indica anyway? So the couchlock is more of an appeal to us?

So for sativa dominant you'd want to harvest milky, some amber, and indica all amber right?
I usually cut when trichromes just barely start turning amber!
Can you tell the phone clip magnifying tool. Thank you
Great video 😍 I'm harvesting my Indica in about 7 days on Valentines 😁 trichomes are cloudy /milky with just a few amber
you have way to many hairs on your plant, like dog or cat ? nasty.
you can do better, one hair can kill a whole joint when it comes to taste n smokin pleasure
Where do you inspect trichomes? At the top of the bud or near the base?
i think they’re cloudy, i have a pair on binoculars that i look through backwards
How do you judge the flush time in? Do I start "flushing" at "harvest" or do I need to guess it to give time to flush without going too long?

When the tricombs start to turn amber is a safe place to cut
Where is the link for the magnifier?
Excellent description and awesome photos. Very informative. Great info for beginners. Thanks 😎✊🏼

Great video man!
Fucking legalize it already! It's killing me watching this knowing I can't order some buds.

The difference between good we'd and great weed can be two weeks.. 90%of all bud is harvested PREMATURE……….

Great information!
