We as adults should have the right to individual sovereignty over our own bodies and consciousness. The time is now for this travesty that is the prohibition of cannabis to end.
You can try to fight it, but it is inevitable. With the internet came the age of logic and reason, and those born within this age are more capable than ever of discerning the truth of reality.
The old stigmas of cannabis cannot and will not ever hold a candle to the truth. No amount of fear mongering or demonizing will influence those who have seen this truth, and as these new generations come into power in government, the inevitable end to prohibition will come to fruition and this one of many disgraces against human rights will finally end.
What? So the med companys that are owned "by many law enforcement officials" can profit freely with official supervision while the unofficial business competition is deemed criminal? Until when? Until law enforcement has the monopoly? And the answer to that question was what @ 4:05? "business" something? "Business state. maybe? An unofficial monopoly? I couldn't understand. But I noticed all three of the news goosenecks nodded in agreement.
Can someone explain what gives the government the authority to regulate this plant? It posses no safety risks. Anybody can go buy a litre of gas to get high if they want to risk the brain damage. No government nanny there. I can upsize all my fry orders, a significantly more costly activity in terms of health care costs. No government nanny. So why this plant? Why has it been decided that though I'm mature enough to buy gasoline, acetaminophen, alcohol, cigarettes and saturated fats but when it comes to this plant I'm not adult enough to decide if and how I may want to use it?
Legalisation is not going to happen. The Trudeau government is going to postpone it until the 2019 election. Then they are going to lose as Trudeau is completely useless. I have yet to see him make a campaign promise. This is why I would not vote for a high school drama teacher….
This is so dumb, it shouldn't be legalized at all. People who are whining to decriminalize it should put more effort in being productive and benefit both the country and the society. Not getting people and end up losing their homes and money and fill the streets.
Pot should come from legal dispensaries, not from pimply-faced drop-outs, hanging around my kid's High School. For the pin heads, do note that none of those pimply faced dealers try to compete with the beer store. Goof!
Marijuana legalization will happen in Canada. It may not be the hippie version that the Emery's would prefer, and it may be delayed, somewhat, while the Liberals figure out how this all going to play out. But it will happen. I think there will be some provision made for people who want to grow their own for personal use, but other than that, it will be taxed and highly regulated for product safety and for security concerns that come with cannabis production and consumption. In the end, Canada will be the hallmark example to the world on how to go about bringing a formerly illegal substance into compliance for safe and secure usage by the general public.
I'm over it… Don't even care anymore… going to quit using cannabis now, been smoking for 15 years, but I just can't do it anymore… it's the illegality that is killing me, price and procuring it is too much for me at this time in my life, once it's legal I'll go back to using!
The more these Marijuana activitists cannot wait for legalization, the more it shows that Marijuana is additictive. Just stop using Marijuana recreationally.
I don't have High hopes this government will get it right after beating around the bush for this long, all signs are pointing in the opposite direction.
Plain and simple, drugs are patented and they simple haven't figured out a way to do so on a national scale. So what they government are doing are stalling until these patented drugs are being figured out and which combinations work with the drug that are beneficial and doing test runs "stalling" before they make it legal to the public. Making it impossible to profit off its legalization.
what do you want from liberal liers that say anything to get elected now look whats happening (drama teacher) will put so many regulations on weed LCBO here we come what a waste of time just Legalize It and be done with it
When the Liberals were elected I was proud that Canada was going to play a part in ending the shameful and hypocritical prohibition on weed, but I was worried they would just shamefully prolong the hypocrisy by monopolizing the industry and continuing to demonize weed advocates. Liberals prove repeatedly that you should always trust your worries of them over your hopes.
the conservative broadcasting corporation completely ignores the pre-injunction medical patients which are still in control at the supreme court (sorry justin). the emery's are being spun out of the conversation. call the benevolent revolution what you will, it isn't mcdonald's for them, it is mcdonald's for the police backed growers and harper era approvals that stand to benefit from this "liberal" legalization path to marihuana (sp?). gimme a break! the emery's are not going about this any differently than the denver or california businesses that are examples of success (cited by forbes) for a positive legalization model. the cbc sounds like the mcdonald's commercial. the people are behind a regulatory system that supports the little guy, and if trudeau loses any points over pot in the next election it will be over that. if you don't believe me, why doesn't the cbc go do a stand-up outside the dispensary instead of subjecting us to the pontifications of these dinosaurs?
while we are having a scrum, can you police happy pundits make a breathalyzer for the back pain pills i no longer have to take that made me nod off… y'know, the ones you are possibly enjoying the benefits of with impunity as you dose us with your opinion on an issue you clearly know very little about? these conservative ideals will lose the case against "impaired" medical users, might as well be clear about that now rather than obscuring it in peak lib rhetoric.
Adult Use Only: legalize it, tax it, regulate it…. then forget about it already… if it's legal in D.C. = it's legal everywhere in my opinion.
firm commitment is now more of a promise than promises

That woman has no clue what she's talking about.

Who is trying to look good here?
Kinda ironic that the CC group are due in court on April 21 eh:)?
Painful listening to this panel use every stigma and ignorant term related to marijuana.

Legal, regulated and easily accessible, for actual medicinal use would be fine by me. That is all we need in Canada.
Pot should come from legal dispensaries, not from pimply-faced drop-outs, hanging around my kid's High School. For the pin heads, do note that none of those pimply faced dealers try to compete with the beer store. Goof!

I think legalization was the biggest promise the liberals made and I hope it doesn't take them 3 years to do it.

another politician promise broken… never seen that coming.
Liberals will lose if weed is not legalized… Plain n simple

Blow back on taking away legalization would outweigh voter reform by ten folds

lets get highhhhhhh😌
Nothing like people that have no clue what cannabis is weighing in on it.
I would push back on that, many would join me
Susan, you are wrong.
If the Liberals do not deliver on this promise history will not be kind to the Trudeau Family legacy.
Stocks on pot,, remember when Steven I lost to Mr Harper ,,,,and in 1974,,,,before Canada had a debit
