Why not presenting studies and numbers rather than bundling something like "much higher" etc
The scitzo report is a straw man. Out of 50K 73 people will get scitzophrenia if they smoke in their teenage years. A way more dangerous trigger is for eg. stress.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST CBC FORGOT TO MENTION ??????=== Julian Fantino, a former Toronto police chief who was an outspoken critic of legalizing marijuana, is now executive chair of a GTA medical marijuana company.+ former RCMP deputy commissioner Raf Souccar, who is Aleafia’s president and chief executive officer.
• No one in the video says marijuana shouldn't be legalized, and I've never heard CBC make that statement. • Pointing out some of the downsides of marijuana use is not endorsing cigarettes. • Alcohol being worse doesn't make marijuana harmless. • Just because marijuana has some medicinal use, doesn't mean it's totally harmless. • And suggesting that if marijuana isn't legalized maybe we should start throwing people in jail for eating eggs and red meat (because they're bad for you) shows how little triggered people think before they respond.
Pothead dude here to remind these people that correlation is not causation. ugh, so cliche. Kids who smoke weed don't go to college, or kids that don't go to college smoke weed? You guys should do some sciencing. Triggered schizophrenia seems to be less credible too, as schizophrenic are generally more likely to engage in all kinds of behaviour because of their condition, not leading to it. ugh, sciencing, please.
While I think it's important to hear everyone's opinion, most of the marijuana is way better for you than drinking, it's not that it's risk less, but it's fine. Smoking it has all the same problems as tobacco tho
I know ppl who have smoke weed since young teenagers and now are in university getting straight As and or has a full time job and still smokes everyday to this day..

They were obviously paid by some sort of pharmaceutical company to make this

"People need to know it leads to psychosis." So, tell them that?
"Kids shouldn't be using marijuana." So don't sell it to them?
This is a great addition to the many, many videos the CBC makes about the dangers of alcohol and the dangers of cigarettes.
3 words CBC… CARL EFFING SAGAN!
The fearmongering and sneering paternalism in this video are so gross.
Hate ato Admit It, But Smoking Pot Does Make You Slow

You could say the risks are.. MADNESS!
Is it worse than alcohol?

Propaganda

There is no notable negative effects. Those effects have not been scientifically studied and therefore are speculative
