1. as an adult with autism, i remember when my mom used the supression stance (trying to hold my arms and force me into stillness) would exaerbate my condition. it ended up harming me mentally more than helping. however when i was wraped in a blanket (wit my explisit consent), that was actually helpful. i feel this kids pain. never grab a child like that with autism. its a sensory overload and is excruciating to the one who doensnt know whats going on and or why the forced confinement is happening.
