Imagine if there would be taxes on weed, the amount of money there already is in alcohol and cigarettes. Compare smoking weed everyday to drinking alcohol daily. It is against the law because it is a fairly new substance in society (not in world history though), and because it is classified as a "drug". Alcohol can be classified just as well as a drug as weed can. And the point that it brings out the worst in people, you've got that wrong. It's alcohol that does that.
