INTRODUCTION TO DEFOLIATION CANNABIS PLANTS!

The process of defoliation for cannabis plants is said to increase yield as well as help with ripening the lower bud sites. This video is an introduction to the process. Do you defoliate? Let…

  1. Should lollipop more than bottom 1/3. You’re stunting your tops by leaving so much lower growth. Whatever you remove from the bottom in early flowering, the plant replaces it with new growth at the top…

  2. Kyle Kushman just suggests stripping all bud sites up to 1 or 2 bud sites 1 week before flowering with many tops and each top will strecth but youll get chunky buds with zero larf..

  3. I love how you got in that some lower fan leaves should be left as an indicator/brunt bearer. I was actually just about to go and strip all the lower fans but thought I better take 5 minutes to watch a video on defoliation. Good stuff!

  4. I wouldn't think defoliating in flower would be beneficial. You need the fan leaves for photosynthesis to occur to produce bigger buds. Removing fan leaves connected close to bud sites will decrease yields.

  5. sorry, i know english bad. i didn't understand when does it need to defoliate – in the first 3 weeks of flowering(7, 14 and 21 day of flowering) or at the and of the flowering before harvesting? Please answer you or somebody. Thank you for the video!

  6. I know people are gonna go in now so I’m ready lol .
I defoliate in early veg. It tends to spring my plants into life if that makes sense .
I then defoliate 2 weeks into flower I also use the lollipop technic at the same time. Reason I do this is
    1) the plant under goes its stretching stage for the first 1-4 weeks during flower depending on strain. This prevents to much stretching of the plant and tends to give me an even canopy. As well as close nodes to form a longer budding site.
    2) I like to keep my plants small and stocky as I hate dealing with overgrown out of control plants. (Nightmare during harvest time )
I’m constantly learning and really appreciate criticism and good advice.
I want small stocky great yielding plants with top quality buds so if anyone agrees or disagrees with my use of defoliation. Please let me know peace out .

  7. Nice video, just harvested a couple days ago and let me tell ya bro I should have defoliated a lot more then I did, top colas are amazing middle is bad and bottom trichomes are barely turning cloudy. I have a quick question if you don’t mind helping out a new subscriber and new grower. I recently transplanted and I want to defoliate so they can branch out, how long after transplant can I start to defoliate?

  8. My plants have burned corners on some big leaves and they seem to dry and fall off, idk what am doing wrong. I just flipped em in flower after 2 and a half months of veg. Any suggestions?
