Great video and exactly what I needed! I've wanted to get my hands on the weed-wacker (string trimmer) for years but trying to watch the lawn guy to figure it out was impossible! Kudos to the lawncare pros out there…y'all make it look soooo easy! However our machine has a really long straight pole (Echo SRM-230) but I'm hoping it is still the same technique. THANKS A MILLION!
So most of the time you want the grass to discharge toward you. This keeps clippings from getting in the beds, which is a major problem if dealing with overgrown lawn. Another plus when it’s discharging toward you is it now lies in the path of the mower so it can be easily mulched or bagged by the mower.

Everybody seems to take the guard piece off in all the videos I’ve been watching. Gah…. I’m not ready to take my training wheels off yet
I hate curved shaft trimmer i only will use an straight shaft
tip for others, use a strait shaft instead of a curved shaft if your over 5 ft 10 inches tall.
