Having known personally one schizophrenic who's first episode occurred when he was 16 and BEFORE he started using cannabis who now smokes to medicate the symptoms of his illness, I have no problem believing that schizophrenics are more liklely to use cannabis as a medicant. After all, 80% of schizophrenics smoke tobacco. There is no evidence that shows cannabis materially changes the brain to cause schizophrenia. The data simply shows schizoprehnics are more likely than non schizophrenics to be regular users of strong cannabis.
it's not about the strength of the cannabis, i'ts about a high ammount of THC with a very low ammount of CBD. when you get to high ammount of thc, the psychoactive substance will overroll the effects of cbd that works against the thc to work psychoactive.
