Christians and Marijuana // Ask Pastor John

Marijuana continues to become legal in more and more states. As the drug becomes more common, how should we think about it from a biblical worldview?

  1. I’ve been told I have ptsd or whatever I have and I smoke weed to draw me closer to reality it helps me see clearly if I don’t have it I feel like I’m on crack thinking too much about stuff helps me focus on what needs to be done and the future instead of my past

Weed is nothing like alcohol. Alcohol makes me want to kill for no reason it’s a demon for me and everyone

  2. Yes we must live our lives in a way that brings God glory. In this specific practical Case it would mean not over using medicinal cannabis. King Solomon says in the Proverbs something like "my son honey is good but too much honey gives you a belly ache" which is wisdom that directly relates to this circumstance.

When cannabis is respected as medicine it is completely in alignment with living a life in direct alignment with Jesus Christ and God and Elohim (the creators of the universe) and the heavenly father (who is the source of all) and maybe the heavenly mother too is there with him. she doesn't get any attention though. But I'm not into the way Christ letters present it in the sense that there's the mother force which is magnetism and there's the father force which is electricity. I don't agree with reducing God into mere forces. Cannabis is a medicine from God. it's there for humans when they need that medicine. It's the absolute perfect best medicine for pain in all circumstances of pain.

I feel cannabis medicine can be used appropriately by conscious and intelligent adults and that it does increase a sense of groundedness and functionality when used rightly. cannabinoids help the brain be more balanced in people that tend to be airy-fairy or detached from reality. the right kinds of cannabis medicine. researching what kinds are good for your body type, your mind type, can help you be more grounded and focused. Small amounts is always intelligent.

Cannabis is medicine and when used rightly and intelligently with a lot of research as to what strains are good for your personal type of personality and body and mind cannabis can help you be more focused in areas when there is a person who is generally not focused and is more spaced out. cannabis can help that person if they can use it intelligently and not use too much and not use it at work and not use it while driving and not use it when you want to be super clear and sharp and functional but use it as the medicine is intended for by God. As God said in the Torah all these plants and herbs are given for your use.

  3. Nothing wrong with disconnecting with reality…spirituality itself is not a concept of our reality, yet we have to seek it in order to save our soul. It is indeed a Good thing to disconnect from this illusion we call reality and spend some time with our inner being. When I was a teenager, I did not care for spirituality nor really believed in it. It was cannabis that allowed me to activate the parts of my being that had been sedated by modern life and bring back that divine spark in me that each one of us has by design from our Father. So as Christians, do not stay away from something that our father created for us, but you use it with moderation when needed. There needs no mention to the intelligent use of cannabis or any drug/medicine for that matter. One is ,of course, not to ingest cannabis right before going to a job or anywhere where the use of cannabis has been redeemed inappropiate. Thus, one is to ingest cannabis in a private and relaxed environment and use it to disconnect from the world and connect into the inner reality of our spirit. One should not treat cannabis as a party drug or another ingredient in a cocktail of substances, but rather have respect for it and it is then when the plant will work the miracles it was designed to. The reason you hear of so many bad experiences on cannabis is because the lack of respect in its cosumption. The person is not in an appropriate environment to broaden the spectrum of the senses and awaken the pineal gland so therefore the subject creates a disharmony of environments, hence paranoia arises. This man clearly stated he was unfamiliar with cannabis so therefore this video should not had even been uploaded. Why would you take someones opinion on a subject when the that someone clearly says he knows not of the subject? And please, do not take my word either. I am only saying what is and should be, but each one of us must find the truth for themselves, by themselves, and where? In themselves. God Bless Every Soul.

  4. Again it’s like does it glorify god are you using it to escape blessings that god has blessed you with or are you using I think if someone smokes all day everyday that’s not glorifying god but if your having trouble sleeping or crazy anxious and you smoke and even pray and try to hear god that way I don’t see how that can be considered a sin. As long as your not making it an idol of course

  5. The bible and modern Christianity is is blissfully ignorant about psychoactive substances. Who's to say the disciples didn't smoke pot? It doesnt say that they didn't, so can't write that off…
Also, psychoactive substances attunes your mind's eye to the real state of your being and existence, much more than praying to an imaginary God or listening to some schmuck on a stage preaching some message and asking for your money

  6. He says he knows nothing about Marijuana, then proceeds to know everything about how negative it is. How about you educate yourself on cannabis, and how a strain can actually make you more alert, before bashing it?

  7. It’s the same as getting drunk, you’re high and not about your father’s business…it leads to other drugs it’s called a gateway drug it leads you to other drugs,..I know because it lead me to other drugs..
    stay away from it..
At one time I thought I couldn’t stop, when I found Jesus it was easy..

  8. Other than the fact that the Body IS a temple for the HS, This can be a matter of personal conviction. If you’re self convicted , then it’s considered sin. When I use, I have a deeper spiritual understanding of the Bible and I’m able to ask pertinent questions and my message of Christ to others comes across better and less rushed…Do everything to the Glory of God🙏🏾

  9. Come on…. get real ! We have been set free from all condemnation ! So that we can be free… HE took ALL our sins at the cross ! Wy even discuss is that a sin or is that a sin.. Get focus on CHRIST !

  10. If you use cannabis and don't feel closer to God you've done it wrong. Pastor john needs to try it before he can speak on it. Our body is our temple. And cannabis helps heal our temple naturally.

  11. If Piper is going to be consistent, he needs to tell Christians not to use SSRIs/antidepressants which are mood-altering, addictive, psychoactive substances that change the way you view the world. Is that being “sober of mind”? I’d take the Xanax out of my pocket before pointing out the joint in your brothers pocket.

  12. As a former vvitch who put more time into his craft in a day than a christian puts into their faith over a week. I'd like to say that whilst automatic writing , my "spirit" wrote me a secret message I was to never tell anybody.

    I'll tell you anyways.

"Don't tell them where the weed pull go"

… You already intuitively know. You are convicted and asking google or youtube to deny what your spirit is saying to you.

    Look at it this way;
    Is it worth the risk?

  13. Notice how he said I’d say that about smoking, “excessive” amounts of alcohol, and marijuana. Make your mind up buddy. Alcohol is poison to your body whether it’s a little or a lot. Why is that many of the top athletes in the world use alcohol but athletes that drink typically have a decline in performance and burn out?

  14. Tobacco is legal yet not beneficial
Many people die from legal drugs
    Overdosing suicide
    Alcohol legal yet causes drunkenness
    Prohibition tried in usa
    Automobiles legal yet we have
    Road rage speed kills

  15. Well lets consider this.
All things a permissive but not all things are beneficial.
Listen to the conscience for it bares witness to God.
For what Reasons are we using it. Ask yourself that.
    Remember Jesus is the key.
By his stripes we are healed.
Some people line in up with sorcery which I think is true.
    Could it have medical benefits.
I have a very rare form of autism. It is a mighty gift from god.
Sometimes though things just get overwhelming. Plus I have a lot of pain in my back. CBD works so well for me.
But god laid on my heart. Don't use it all the time. Remember what you are fighting. Remember to discern. Remember we are all creation of god but the world is full of evil. Just use what you need and walk away. First seem him though.

  16. If it seems like a sin to you then it is but think about this, Bob Marley died with a smile on his face and his last words were "Take me Jesus" after spending his life singing about loving each other even to the point the world tried to assassinate him

  17. I'm so glad my Lord put the cannabis seed on this earth! The devil would've had my soul if I did not have my God's medicine. When you smoke it gives you that Holy Spirit feeling. How amazing it all connects! Thank you my Lord!!

  18. I use it as medicine. It creates space for introspection. But I understand your reasoning.

The comparison to alcohol is a bit of a stretch to me. One is naturally occurring. Regardless thanks for your perspective. 🙏
