My dog has had Blastomycosis since 2 yrs old and developed glaucoma in which the vet prescribed human glaucoma drops cost $90/mo. My friend dosed my dog a few blows and the results were phenomenal. The vet told me he would probably only live 2 more yrs give or take because of the blastomycosis. .. 🙁 But my friends been dosing him weekly sometimes daily, and he is Happy, energetic, and He's turning 10 in November. Our Veterinarian is a Believer of medical Marijuana now thru our Dog. So am I.
Pets have an endocannabinoid system just like humans do. A friend (who doesn't use marijuana himself) used to buy a bag of it to give to his boxer as she got older who had bad arthritis in her legs. He just gave her a small bud in a piece of cheese every night and said it helped her a lot. Another friend has a little dog that has seizures occasionally and they have been giving their dog a little canna coconut oil on a treat semi regularly and he hasn't had any seizures since. If you decide to try it start out at a small dosage, just as I'd recommend anyone do if they themselves were taking it.
Thanks doc for a thoughtful and honest answer! I live in Colorado where MMJ is legal and my husband has a card (not even needed anymore, but…) for use for his pain. It works wonders but I would NEVER risk giving it to our furbabies unless and until it had been thoroughly researched and even then, very scary because everybody is different, so surely that is the same for dogs! One might respond well and another might react really badly. Too scary for me, but I'm with you doc, I sure hope that research is being done into this.

I Make it in rice for my 13 yr dog and she has the energy to play ball for an hour now! She doesn't seem to be in pain anymore and is happy again.
