I agree totally about the jiffy pucks. If done correctly and your seeds have good genetics 🧬 100% success rate for me anyway 😉 I better go knock on wood now lol I soak my seeds for 14-18hrs to fatten them beans up. I then take them and plant with tweezers1/2 inch into peat puck which I put 1/8 of ph tested warm water and drain rest of water 💦 off. Put on heat mat and use green house dome. Once one or two pop their pretty heads up prop dome open inche to half an inch. When half your beans pop take dome off and turn off heat mat put under low watt led. The main thing is to “ leave them alone!” Which is hard for new growers and some old.lol if you have good beans within 24-48 hrs you “ will “ have total success. Don’t get attached to your plants either and over baby them cuz this is s thing peeps do lol I even did in the beginning almost crying when it came to chop day 👏😂 great channel and great advice. One other note the paper towel method is popular and does work if done right by why would you want to Risk killing your babies 🤔 how? By touching them lol would you touch a newborn fetus with dirty hands 🤔😉 I hope not lol all I’m saying more chance to mess up especially if your a noob. Last thing you wanna be doing is playing around with freshly popped beans 😎✌️🌱✊
How did anyone ever grow MJ before ph test kits, fancy lights, special soil? Maybe you could do a video for growing old school for those of us who don't have $500 to invest.
I have my grow room "light tight" so there's zero light penetration while the lights are off. The power indicator lights on my surge protectors and timers are red and blue, respectively but easily addressed with some black electrical tape. Wondering about the faint orange glow emitting off the back of the heater (thinking there's not much I can do about that). Would love to achieve zero on the darkness scale. Any thoughts?
In the video, you say to keep the lighting 18" above the seedling at all times _tops_, yet on the Indica Institute blog, you recommend 22-24; why the discrepancy?
Hey, i soaked my seed for 2 days, then put in a wet napkin inside a ziplock bag, for another 2 days, the root sprung about 2 inches, but in an S shape. I transplanted,(pretty much did all you do) but it has been 2 days and it has not popped out yet. Its been outside for 2 days, day and night. Am i just being too inpatient, or is that sign of something wrong with the seed or root? I would appreciate any help. “Great content by the way”
How do you know when to transplant the germinated seeds into the solo cups? Should the seedlings be a certain height before putting into individual cups? My biggest seedling is about an inch high from the pod. Not sure if I should put them all in solo cups yet or not? Should I also water the sprouted seeds after transplanting into solo cups? Should I cut any holes in the bottom of the cups?

I just use tap water, and they sprout just fine.

hey prof! what cfl light wattage do you suggest for the seedlings? i’ve got a 600W hps lamp so i may need to got some cfl bulbs…

What is the proper or desired pH level in the water? It has not been mentioned.
